HST inserting a pause in stored phone number

When storing dialed numbers for POTS Dialer functions in scripts that require calling a quiet term or test tone number, how do you insert a pause in the stored number to dial?

The ,  (comma) character inserts a pause when placed in the stored phone number. The comma is accessed by pressing the * (star) key on the keypad multiple times until the comma appears.
