MSAM port speeds
Knowledge Base - Solution
How do you tell the speed that each port is capable of on a dual port MSAM?
If the MSAM is a Version 1 MSAM then there will be a CXXYY number on the faceplate of the module. The XX number shows the max speed for port 1. The YY number is the max speed for port 2. C1010 means a dual port MSAM with both ports capable of operating up to 10G. C1004 means port 1 is 10G capable and port 2 can go up to 4G. C0404 means both ports can operate up to 4G. If the MSAM Is a Version 2 MSAM then the faceplate will says V2 and both ports are 10G capable. For both versions of MSAM hardware, software licensing may be required to access the second port for various rates.
