JDSU Shares Key Product Advancements at ECOC 2014
At booth #451, JDSU will demonstrate its latest offerings and important product advancements:
1.5 W Tunable SFP+ Transceiver. JDSU’s Tunable SFP+ solutions allow network operators to flexibly switch from one wavelength to another to optimize network performance and drive greater density and efficiency. JDSU has already released a 1.7W version to volume manufacturing that is fully MSA compliant. The company has also demonstrated less than 1.3 W power dissipation at 70 C case temperature to guarantee less than 1.5W at end of life and is now moving this product into the sampling phase. The 1.5 W Tunable SFP+ transceiver will be released into volume manufacturing in Q1 2015, further extending JDSU’s leadership in tunable products.
Second-Generation TrueFlex® Twin 1x9 and 1x20 WSS. JDSU introduced its second generation of twin wavelength selective switch (WSS) products, including 1x9 and 1x20 WSS’s with dramatically reduced footprint and low-profile packages enabling single-slot linecard solutions that are ideal for metro and long-haul route-and-select ROADM configurations and for metro 2-degree ROADMs (reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer) with 8 port colorless add/drop capabilities. Two independently-switched WSS’s are integrated within a single compact package with full flex-spectrum capabilities and the TrueFlex feature set, including intrachannel attenuation equalization.
TrueFlex Route & Select Super Transport Blade. The densest and most integrated linecard solution available to support next-generation ROADMs and software defined networks (SDN) within the metro and long haul optical networks, this new product integrates JDSU’s second generation TrueFlex Twin 1x9 or 1x20 WSS, multiple optical channel monitors (OCM), switchable-gain preamp Erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA), and a variable gain postamp EDFA onto a single-slot linecard. JDSU currently has custom development programs underway with multiple customers.
ERGO laser. The JDSU pulse-generating laser built with SESAM® technology delivers exceptionally low jitter (<100fs), clean Gaussian picosecond pulses with high coherence and high repetition rate (up to 25GHz). The laser is a hands-free, turnkey solution.
ONT 100G with CFP2, QSFP28 and MLG. The JDSU ONT 100G test solution fully supports and validates third-generation 100G pluggable optics, including CFP4 and QSFP28, that are the pluggable modules essential to enable low cost deployment of 100G. The addition of the new MLG application helps to ensure that advanced module features can be brought to market quickly with a solution that combines physical layer and protocol support in one seamless application.
T-BERD/MTS-5800 with OTDR. The world’s smallest dual-port 10G test instrument that allows for simultaneous Ethernet and fiber characterization/troubleshooting to help network technicians install, turn up and manage networks.
MAP-220C. A compact, two-slot MAP-220C chassis that significantly reduces the physical test station footprint and overhead costs as optical transponder and subsystem test stations are retooled for 100 and 400G. The MAP LightDirect platform supports the mOSW switch family as well as a broad range of modules that include switches, attenuators, power meters, and optical sources.
CSAM (100G Services Application Module). Leveraging next-generation CFP2 optics along with QSFP+ optics, users can install the CSAM in the T-BERD®/MTS-6000A test platform for the industry’s smallest ultra-portable 100G tester.
