How to run a BIST Test on an ONX CATV unit (ONX-6xx)

When customer face a problem with an ONX CATV unit (ONX-6xx), most of the time VIAVI TAC engineers will request to perform a BIST Test on the unit. This report is needed for the VIAVI TAC to perform an accurate diagnostic of the problem. This How-to article covers the procedure to perform a BIST Test and get the results.
BIST test on an ONX CATV (ONX-6xx)
Performing a BIST test on an ONX-CATV (ONX-6xx) is a 6 steps procedure. Please follow all the steps to get the BIST results:
1. Unplug any RF coax cables/jumpers from the unit
2. Turn off the unit
3. Press and hold the system tray key (bottom right), then power the ONX on (as normally)
4. Keep holding the tray key until you see the VIAI logo come up, then release the tray key
5. Once the unit fully powers on, go to CATV -> CATV settings -> engineering utilities and select Built-in Self-test
6. Once the test completes, you can go to System -> File Browser -> BIST Folder -> BIST file. You can copy it to a USB stick and email it to VIAVI TAC for analysis
NOTE: If you observe any failure on the screen while the BIST test is running, please take a screenshot of this and send it to the VIAVI TAC.
