WiFi Advisor wireless testing best security method
Knowledge Base - FAQ
When setting up a 802.11 wireless network, what is the best security method?
WEP is the least desirable security method but some older 802.11b devices may not be capable of of supporting more advanced methods. WPA and WPA2 are better methods with WPA2 being the most desirable. Which ever method chosen you would need to ensure that all the devices that need to access the network are capable of that security method. WEP or WPA will limit all packet transmissions to and from a given AP to the 802.11g 54M PHY rate, even if both the AP and the station are capable of higher rates.
