The Multiple Application Platform (MAP) multiport tunable filter module (mTFX-C1) dramatically simplifies test signal management for next-generation 100 G+ interfaces, sub-systems, and system test.

The mTFX is a modular Ethernet or GPIB instrument and can be directly managed from your PC-based automation system. It eliminates the need to re-purpose optical network technology or use complex libraries with specialized interface cards.

Based on next-generation liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) technology, the mTFX is much more than a tunable filter. It combines variable attenuator, switch, power meter, and DWDM multiplexer functions to dramatically simplify photonic testing of coherent interfaces, amplifier, and DWDM systems. Leveraging TrueFlex™ technology, filters are continuously tunable in center wavelength and bandwidth and are not locked to the ITU grid. Multiple parallel wavelength paths can be created without disrupting already established connections—all with sub-GHz resolution. Industry-leading specifications for loss and out-of-band rejection ensure minimal impairments on your test signals.

Using the mTFX, get the right wavelengths to the right test port with the right power—quickly – and flexibly isolate, groom, manage, and route any wavelength or group of wavelengths with a simple, intuitive GUI and/or SCPI-based remote commands.

Having accurate measurements ensures highest possible yields whilst maintaining product specifications. Ensuring all that the optical test equipment is performing as designed and calibrated is requirement in achieving that goal. Viavi will validate measurement accuracies conform to published specifications. Maintain connectors and pigtails. Factory standards to ensure accuracy MAP VIAVI is a TL9000 company and calibrates this instrument based on general requirements for the competence of calibration and testing laboratories (ISO/IEC 17025:2005) to ensure your instrument is certified to measure accurately. Instruments that are out of calibration will produce unreliable measurements and can create false passing or false failing test results that often cause your team repeat work. We maintain, polish and clean all fiber connectors, fix pigtail connections that are internal to the product to ensure all parts stay in good working order and upgrade software / firmware to the latest approved release to enable enhancements. VIAVI Care Plans are the most cost-effective way to plan for calibration with a low, discounted price at the time of instrument purchase. Fixed rate calibration can also be purchased later via a separate purchase order. Ensure accurate measurements that meet design expectations and optical budgets. Maintain ports and connectors to keep signals working properly and to extend the life of the instrument. For example, if optical connectors or lasers are bad or interface ports are loose then after repeated connection cycles, optical measurements may be inaccurate or damage may occur. When manufacturing optical network products, accurate, reliable and repeatable optical measurement performance is essential to compliance with published/committed product specifications Know that optical product design, product manufacturing and customer expectations are accurate and in alignment throughout product lifecycle Why calibrate this product? Inaccurate measurements may prevent verification of power levels or introduce other measurement uncertainties, errors and artifacts. Out-of-calibration instruments can result in design errors, production problems, end customer escalations, increased failure rates, audit non-compliance or even ultimately loss of business. What are the most common implications of these issues to the MAP business? Uncalibrated tools produce unreliable measurement results that can't be certified to specifications and may violate product agreements or ISO/TL9000 standards with your customers and their network equipment vendors. Design errors resulting from inaccurate measurements can result in ongoing issues throughout the product lifecycle including poor yields, inaccurate optical budgets, increased return rates and customer expectation mismatch. Battery / Bag Replacement Coverage
Batteries and bags wear out with daily use and charge cycles. To ensure these items don't slow you down, our 5 year plans include a replacement over the life of your 5 year plan.

VIAVI will provide a one-time replacement of bad battery and worn soft bag/glove within the duration of a 5-year SilverCare or MaxCare Support Plan. Replacement will only be replaced when the instrument is returned to VIAVI for repair or calibration service. Hard cases are excluded, and coverage is not applicable for instruments sold without bag/battery.

MaxCare Accessory Replacement Coverage
Instrument products come with accessory cables and connector tips. To ensure reliable, accurate testing we will cover the replacement of one accessory annually, to ensure good test results.

When an accessory has been determined to be defective or faulty, VIAVI will, at no charge to customer, either repair the accessory or exchange at VIAVI’s discretion. Exchanged accessories may be new or refurbished. All returned accessories become property of VIAVI. The following limitations apply: no more than one accessory may be exchanged per 12 month period; applicable accessories include only those accessories that are considered essential to the operation of the instrument and were shipped with the original purchased product. The Customer is responsible for shipping faulty accessory back to VIAVI when there is a concern or during a calibration or repair service event.

Express Loaner
Now you can schedule calibrations or repairs with no downtime. The Express Loaner Service provides you with a similarly configured piece of equipment before sending yours in for calibration or for that unexpected repair that you need immediately.
