Electromagnetic Warfare
Assure dominance of the Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) across all aspects of Electronic Warfare.
Rapid advancements demand continuous adaptation to keep up with emerging threats.
VIAVI has a long-standing history of supporting military organizations. Our teams work closely with our customers to ensure our products provide the solutions necessary for successful operations and to provide the training necessary to ensure personnel know-how to use our equipment effectively and efficiently.
Solutions for Developing EMS Superiority
VIAVI products provide a comprehensive ecosystem of capabilities needed for ES, EP, and EA operations in a single-vendor offering of interoperable products. This combination of products gives users an unparalleled ability to understand, control, exploit, and dominate the Electromagnetic Spectrum from anywhere in and around there are of operation.
VIAVI products can monitor, record, synthesize, and analyze individual signals and complex EMS environments. These products can also be used to create and automate complex and dynamic electromagnetic environments for EA effects, obfuscation, and training purposes. By providing all these capabilities in one family of products, VIAVI provides complete control of the EMS to support all aspects of the mission set. Deploying these highly complementary systems together provides a force multiplier to own the EMS and maximize mission effectiveness.
VIAVI offers comprehensive solutions that are ideal for the following EW applications:
Modern encryption and advanced modulation require sophisticated tools that commanders need to address obstacles and emerging threats in the field. When provided with a method to deal with issues of spectrum crowding, signal hiding techniques, and spectrum fragmentation the war fighter has complete situational awareness of the EMS environment and can exploit opportunities and vulnerabilities of the EMS ensuring mission success.
The VIAVI Ranger EMS Suite is the most powerful Electromagnetic Warfare (EW), Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO), Signal/Communications Intelligence (SIGINT/COMINT) platform available on the market. With the ability to record, analyze and catalogue signals to create a library of RF Signals of Interest (SOIs) soldiers can create friendly force RF signatures that conceal location and confuse adversaries, or utilize Electronic Attack (EA) capabilities to deny adversaries use of communication systems.
The VIAVI OneAdvisor 800 Wireless Platform has a high-performance, real-time persistent spectrum analyzer with coverage from 9 kHz to 44 GHz and provides a complete and accurate view of spectral emissions used to execute proper Emmissions Control (EMCON) procedures to evade detection and ensure survivability.
The VIAVI Ranger EMS Suite is a unique, comprehensive system that creates complex and dynamic electromagnetic environments for obfuscation and training purposes.
By recording and analyzing live signals, as well as synthetically creating signals based on parametric characteristics, the suite processes and stores signals creating a library of high-resolution IQ waveforms that replicate both friendly and threat signals.
When used with the T/Rx Software Defined Transceiver (SDT) System, the Signal WorkShoptm(SWS) application, and EMS Sequencer application any sequence of events in training scenarios can be generated quickly modified allowing the training to be adapted to enhance the trainee's skillset with real-world signals recorded elsewhere and replayed at total bandwidth.
Whether training operators to identify and analyze signals for interference mitigation or training operators on creating obfuscation scenarios, you need the equipment capable of recording, analyzing, and simulating complex signal environments.
The field-deployable VIAVI Ranger EMS Suite, along with the T/Rx Software Defined Transceiver (SDT) System and Signal Workshop, can create scenarios for all Electronic Warfare operator training aspects. From finding and neutralizing signals or in obfuscation training exercises.
As cybercrimes become more prevalent and difficult to identify and mitigate, validating next-gen firewall products prior to deployment and through the life of its use becomes more and more critical to network security.
Using both traffic generation to test failover and injection traffic to test firewall blocking and binning, the versatile VIAVI TeraVM system operates in a lab-based environment using mirrors of the system under test.
TeraVM draws on an updated bi-weekly national threat database of over 40,000 threats and malware to perform data network firewall testing and even allows users to create their own signals and ‘spoof’ other forces, or decrypt RF encoded signals by pulling bits out of the signal.
