SecureTime GEO services offer advanced 5 ns GEO-enhanced GNSS (eGNSS) and alternate GNSS (altGNSS) timing services

VIAVI has partnered with an Inmarsat services provider to offer two timing source options. These new services complement existing GNSS and provide independent, highly accurate, resilient timing. VIAVI has field tested signal resiliency in active jamming and spoofing environments providing a true alternative to GNSS timing where other solutions fail.

  • SecureTime altGNSS GEO Services

    VIAVI SecureTime™ altGNSS GEO-L offers an alternate GNSS-independent timing service that distributes time using encrypted L-Band signals transmitted from Inmarsat’s Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) satellites. SecureTime altGNSS GEO-L is a global service that leverages existing GEO satellite constellations, GEO ground reference stations, and redundant UTC(NIST/PTB)-traceable control infrastructure. When SecureTime altGNSS GEO-L is installed on SecurePNT™ products, the solution delivers sub 100 ns timing accuracy, exceeding the ITU-T G.8272 PRTC-A standard.

    VIAVI SecureTime altGNSS GEO-L service provides resilient and assured PNT services for applications such as:

    • Critical Infrastructure – power station synchronization
    • Data center back-up timing solution
    • Communication command center in contested environment
    • Evaluating GPS Receiver Vulnerabilities in the Week Rollover Scenario

  • SecureTime eGNSS GEO Services

    VIAVI SecureTime™ eGNSS GEO offers an enhanced GNSS timing service that distributes timing using encrypted L-Band signals transmitted from Inmarsat’s Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) satellites. SecureTime eGNSS GEO is a global service that provides GNSS authentication and anti-spoofing capabilities, providing sub 5ns timing accuracy and improved jamming resistance through a VIAVI-designed helical antenna. When the service is installed on SecurePNT products, it enhances GNSS with sub 5ns timing accuracy, while providing resilient and assured PNT services for critical infrastructure.

    VIAVI SecureTime eGNSS GEO service provides resilient and assured PNT services for applications such as:

    • High accuracy time / stability requirements of financial services trading
    • Monitoring and Calibration of long Fiber Optic links
    • Monitoring of Cesium/Hydrogen Maser clock stability
